The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday seized an abandoned Pakistani boat from the Ravi river in the border belt of Punjab's frontier district of Gurdaspur, officials said here.
The boat was seized in the Dera Baba Nanak sector, the officials said.
The seizure of the boat comes amid the heightened tension between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control. However, BSF Director General K.K. Sharma said there was nothing to suggest any foul-play.
"There was excessive water flow because of which the boat drifted on our side. The boat has accidentally drifted to our side, I don't think there is any problem with the boat," said Sharma.
The Indian Coast Guard on Sunday apprehended a Pakistani boat with nine crew members off the Gujarat coast.
