Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning wrestler Azhar Hussain is among three others who have expressed an interest in participating in the Pro-Wrestling League (PWL).
Hussain, gold medallist in the 57 kilogram category in the 2010 CWG, along with fellow countryman Qamar Abbas, Muhammad Inam and Asad Butt, have written to the PWL committee to be a part of the tournament, a release from the organisers said.
Hussain got the first two medals for his country in the 2010 CWG, bagging silver in the Greco Roman style (55 kg category). He won gold in the freestyle competition. It was Pakistan's first Gold in 40 years.
Inam won gold in the 2010 edition in the 86 kg category, Abbas added a silver to his list of laurels in the 2014 edition. Youngster Butt won bronze in the Beach Asian Games.
