Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu won the women's and men's titles, respectively, in the third JSW Indian Squash Challenger here Sunday.
In the women's final, Dipika edged out winner of previous two events Egypt's Nouran El Torky 14-12, 12-10, 11-7 in 46 minutes while Sandhu defeated another Egyptian Shehab Essam Hosny 11-9, 11-7, 11-7 in 50 minutes.
Both Pallikal and El Torky kept things very tight throughout the majority of the game. However in the end, it was Pallikal's skilful moves that took the match away from El Torky, putting an end to her winning streak.
Pallikal said: "Nouran was a great competition and I enjoyed playing with her after such a long time. I am very happy to win the circuit in front of the home crowd and the fact that this is my first tour title of the year, it is all the more special."
