Hundreds of outraged parents Thursday stormed into a private school here, protesting the alleged sexual assault of a six-year-old student by two staff members.
"We have detained the accused duo for interrogation on the basis of an FIR though the incident is reported to have occurred July 2," Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Satish Kumar told IANS here.
Though the victim told her parents and teachers July 9 that she was sexually assaulted by the sports teacher and physical instructor in the school premises, Vibgyor High School authorities failed to act against the two attackers.
"The incident came to light only Tuesday (July 15) after the parents approached us," Satish Kumar said.
Seeking stringent action against the accused duo, parents sought safety and security of their wards reading in the school.
