The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Saturday launched its blog to mark India's 69th Independence Day and ensure "qualitative flow of information".

The blog, https://pibindia.wordpress.com/, currently has articles by various union ministers such as Minister of Rural Development Birender Singh and Minister of State for Environment and Forest Prakash Javadekar.

It also has posts from the ministries of skill development and entrepreneurship, highlighting the key achievements of the government, a statement issued here said.

A colourful factsheet on the government's activities is embedded in the blog.

The move is a part of its overall shift towards more interactive social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, the statement added.
