Sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen will be part of the British Broadcasting Corporation's (BBC) radio coverage of the cricket World Cup, beginning Feb 14.

The former England batsman will feature on the Test Match Special programme from the quarter-finals onwards.

Pietersen recently played for the Melbourne Stars at the Big Bash T20 League. He was left out of England's World Cup squad last month.

"I'm really looking forward to working with the Test Match Special team at the World Cup," Pietersen was quoted as saying by guardian,co.uk Wednesday.

"I really enjoyed having a go at some commentary during the Big Bash and it will be good to return to Australia for the climax of what should be a really exciting tournament."

Pietersen also confirmed he will play the 2015 Caribbean Premier League T20, starting in April, for the St. Lucia Zouks.
