A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Patna High Court on Thursday seeking a CBI inquiry into the properties and assets of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad's sons, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav and Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav.
Petitioner M.P. Sangar, a lawyer, alleged that both Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav did not declare their assets at the time of filing the nomination papers to contest the Bihar assembly polls in 2015.
"I have requested the court to direct the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the matter," the lawyer told the media here.
Earlier this month, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had accused Lalu Prasad and his family members, including both the sons, of having 'benami' (proxy) properties.
Modi had also alleged that Lalu Prasad's sons were involved in a 'soil purchase scam' and claimed that the family had become owners of a prime piece of land in Patna earlier owned by AK Infosystems Pvt. Ltd.
