Piyush Sangwan shot a brilliant round of two under par 70 in the second and final round Friday to emerge as the champion of the inaugural Salwan Cup -- NCR school golf championship.
Piyush, who was tied for the third place overnight, representing American Public School, finished with a tournament score of level par 144 and was a five-stroke winner over Vinay Kumar Yadav of GB Pant Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya.
In the girls category, Indian team member Seher Atwal, cousin of Arjun Atwal, emerged victorious with a total of 6-over 78. Afshan Fatima finished the runner-up with two strokes behind.
As many as 48 boys from over 25 schools and 12 girls from eight schools participated in the two-day event.
