Prime Minister Narendra Modi's younger brother Prahlad Modi has expressed displeasure over a police case filed against his friend, a dhaba owner, and met the Indore police chief in this regard.

Seven persons, including dhaba owner Anil Rathore, have been charged under the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, in Manpur police station area, on a complaint filed by Radheshyam Bhil. While six accused have been arrested, Rathore is absconding. The police raided his house on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the Prime Minister's brother had come to Indore to attend a wedding at Rathore's residence.

On Wednesday, Modi met Deputy Inspector General of Police Santosh Singh and raised objections over the police complaint against Rathore.

The DIG's office confirmed to IANS on Thursday that Prahlad Modi had raised the issue with the police chief, who assured him of a probe into the incident.

According to the complaint, Rathore ordered Bhil to repair a punctured tyre of his car and when the latter refused, Rathore and his group started beating him. They also physically abused the women in Bhil's house, it is alleged.
