The plane of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was returning to the capital after a function in Karnataka, was diverted here on account of bad weather in Delhi and stayed for nearly two hours, said informed sources.
"His plane landed in Jaipur at around 9.15 p.m. and since then was waiting for the ATC to give them clearance to fly to Delhi," a source at the Jaipur airport told IANS. It took off at around 11.20 p.m., the source said.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje went to the airport when the news reached her.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area and even police deployment at all major cross roads near the airport was strengthened, said officials.
