A court here on Monday handed custody of the four other persons accused in the kidnap of a popular actress to the police probe team.
The prime accused Pulsar Sunil and Vijesh are already in custody of the police and being taken around, as part of the investigation, to the places where they stayed after committing the crime on February 17.
This is the first time that the police are getting all the six accused in custody. The police have time till March 3 to crack the case to find out if there was a conspiracy, as is being alleged by the opposition parties - Congress and BJP.
The four, who already have been arrested, told the court that they had no knowledge beforehand of what they were supposed to do as it was Sunil who had called them.
The police are yet to zero down on the pictures of the victim, which is believed to have been taken by the accused while she was held hostage by them for over two hours.
A pen drive and a tablet which the probe team recovered near Coimbatore from the house where Sunil stayed has been sent for forensic examination.
The police on Monday took Sunil and Vijesh to a popular hill station at Vagamon in Idukki district where the two were holed up when they were on the run.
A restaurant owner at the hill station identified Sunil who had come to his hotel last week.
"I have seen him earlier also as he was here as part of film crews in the past," said the restaurant owner.
