A police head constable on Monday died under suspicious circumstances at Telangana police armed reserve (AR) headquarters here.
Khaja Moinuddin was found dead at AR headquarters in Amberpet. Police were examining the cause of his death.
According to police, the guards on duty at the premises heard gunfire sound from Moinuddin's room. They found him lying in a pool of blood.
Since it was a self loading rifle (SLR) and only one round was fired, police suspect the constable might have committed suicide.
If the SLR accidentally goes off, it completely gets emptied, source said.
Senior officers visited the spot and ordered a probe. Police were analysing his call data to gather details about his last conversation over phone.
The man belonged to Nalgonda district of Telangana. He met with a road accident a few years back, and was reportedly not in good health.
