A sub-inspector of police in Telangana's Karimnagar district on Friday committed suicide, police said.
Jaganmohan, posted in Peddapalli town in Karimnagar district, shot with from his service revolver at police quarters on Friday night.
In a suicide note, the officer said he was taking the extreme step due to his transfer which deprived him of promotion. Higher authorities had issued orders three days ago, transferring him to Jammikunta.
Jaganmohan was in depression due to the transfer as service at Peddapalli for three more months would have given him promotion as circle inspector.
The police officer also alleged that he was being transferred frequently due to political pressure.
