Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has joined Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit Mumbai Indians in an advisory role.
One of the best batsmen of the modern era, Ponting was part of the victorious Mumbai Indians side that lifted the IPL Trophy and led the team in the first few outings last season before handing over the reins to current captain Rohit Sharma.
The Tasmanian will be with the team for the last two matches of the UAE-leg.
"I am looking forward to working with Mumbai Indians once again. I had a fantastic season last summer and understand how passionate our players are towards the franchise. I believe we have the fire in us and we will strive hard to put our best," said Ponting after arriving here.
