Actress Kausalya, last seen in the 2008 Tamil romantic-drama "Santosh Subramaniam", is returning to the industry with upcoming actioner "Poojai" in the same language.
The film was launched here Friday.
"I didn't have any special reasons to cast her. I just thought she would be perfect and when I narrated her the script, she agreed to do it with gusto. She plays a character with a lot of scope for performance," film's director Hari Gopalakrishnan told IANS.
"Poojai" features Vishal Krishna and Shruti Haasan in the lead.
Kausalya, who is "excited" about her comeback, says she was away from the industry due to health issues.
"Many thought I quit acting, but the truth is that I was dealing with some health problems. I had to take a break, therefore, I couldn't continue acting," she said.
"Poojai" will go on floors April 11.
