Lyon's Portuguese right-back Miguel Lopes will undergo a surgery Tuesday, the French Ligue 1 club announced.
The 27-year-old defender, who was on a one-year loan to Lyon from Portugal's Sporting Lisbon, sustained the injury during Lyon's 1-0 victory at Guingamp Sunday, reported Xinhua.
According to the club, Lopes will rest for up to six weeks before starting the rehabilitating process, which means his hope of competing in the World Cup in Brazil is doubtful.
Lopes has won 16 league caps since joining Lyon in July 2013 and he has played four international matches for Portugal.
