Later, Indonesians Gideon Markus Fernaldi and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo took care of Indian pair Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy in the men's doubles pre quarter-finals, to win 21-13, 19-21, 21-15 in 44 minutes.
The only Indian alive in the tournament is third seed Saina Nehwal who will play her women's singles quarter-final later in the day against Chinese Yihan Wang.
