President Pranab Mukherjee arrived here Friday on a two-day visit to Odisha.
He was given a warm welcome at the Biju Patnaik Airport by Governor S.C. Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and senior officials.
From the airport, he proceeded to the temple town of Puri, 56 km from here, in a helicopter. He will spend the night at the Raj Bhavan there.
Mukherjee would visit the Jagannath temple Saturday morning and return to Bhubaneswar to attend the second convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar.
The president is also scheduled to attend the convocation ceremony of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Centre for Communication and Management before returning to New Delhi later in the day.
This is Mukherjee's second visit to the state after becoming president. He had earlier visited the state in April.
