President's rule in Jharkhand was revoked early Saturday.

A press release from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said President Pranab Mukherjee had signed the proclamation under clause (2) of article 356 of the Constitution.

The six-month period of president's rule would have ended in a few days, as the proclamation of the imposition of such rule was made Jan 18.

On Tuesday, Heman Soren, leader of the legislative party of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, had staked claim to form the government in the state, handing over a list of 43 MLAs who supported him to Governor Syed Ahmed.

There are 82 members in the state assembly.
