President to inaugurate platinum jubilee of INS

President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Indian Newspaper Society Thursday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said Wednesday.

The event will take place at Vigyan Bhavan here.

The INS was set up as the Indian and Eastern Newspaper Society Feb 27, 1939, in New Delhi with 14 founders. It now has over a thousand members with publications in 19 languages and a combined circulation of 71 million copies.
