President Ram Nath Kovind will preside over the ninth convocation of Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry on May 22, an official statement said on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Governor and university Chancellor Archarya Devvrat will attend the event in Nauni near Solan town.
Graduation and postgraduation degrees will be awarded to 462 students in horticulture, forestry and biotech programmes, Vice Chancellor H.C. Sharma said.
Students of MBA and Ph.D programmes will also get degrees at the convocation. Gold medals will be awarded in eight disciplines.
The university was founded in 1985 to promote education, research and extension education in the fields of horticulture, forestry and allied disciplines. Then President R. Venkataraman attended the first convocation of the university in 1988.
