Productivity linked bonus for railway employees
The government Saturday said that it has approved payment of productivity linked bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days wages for 2013-14 to all eligible railway employees.
According to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the decision was taken by the Union cabinet at a meeting held here.
The cabinet's decision will have financial implications to the tune of Rs.1,063.38 crore.
A cabinet statement said that the wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to railway employees is Rs.3,500 per month.

About 12.60 lakh railway employees are likely to benefit from the decision.
The PLB equivalent to 78 days' wages has been paid as a special case to motivate employees, the statement added.
