PSV Eindhoven were the only team to maintain their perfect start of the Dutch Eredivisie football season by beating Vitesse 2-0.
Striker Luuk de Jong opened the scoring with his first goal of the season Sunday night, while Adam Maher sealed the victory in injury time, reports Xinhua.
Also Sunday reigning champions Ajax, who lost 1-3 to PSV last week, suffered their second consecutive defeat. FC Groningen won 2-0 through goals by Eric Botteghin and Michael de Leeuw.
FC Twente and Feyenoord drew 0-0 in Enschede, with Mitchell Vrede missing a penalty on behalf of the visitors. PEC Zwolle, who had won all three previous matches, suffered their first defeat, losing 1-3 at NAC Breda.
PSV now lead the standings with the maximum of twelve points, ahead of FC Groningen(9), PEC Zwolle(9), SC Cambuur(8), SC Heerenveen(7), Excelsior(7) and Ajax(6).
