Faisal Qamar of Rajasthan won gold in the boys' U-19 individual category while Haryana's Jennifer emerged champion in the girls' section on the concluding day of the CBSE National Tennis Championship 2016 here on Monday.
Qamar defeated Chinmaya of Uttar Pradesh 6-4, 6-4 while Jennifer got the better of Delhi's Gauri by a 4-2, 4-2 scoreline.
In the boys' U-14 category, Delhi's Kanishk Pal defeated Anurag from Haryana 4-1, 4-1 to be adjudged the winner while Deepa Laxmi of Tamil Nadu beat Karnataka's Sanskriti 4-2, 4-2 in the girls' U-14 final.
DPS Hyderabad beat Little Angels, Sonipat 2-1 to win the boys U-14 team event while M.M. Public School, Pitampura won the boys' U-19 team title beating St. Joseph, Tonk 2-0.
SBOA, Chennai beat DPS, Bangalore 2-1 in the final of the girls' U-14 category while Little Angels, Sonipat beat DAV, Chennai 2-0 to garner the title of the girls' U-19 team champion.
The five-day event involved more than 350 players and coaches from 56 schools from India and the west Asian countries of Oman, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
