Accusing the CBI of "spreading misinformation", Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Friday asked the agency to question him instead of harassing his son Karti Chidambaram.
"Sad CBI spreading misinformation. In Aircel-Maxis, FIPB officials have recorded statements before CBI that approval given was valid.
"In Aircel-Maxis, FIPB recommended and I approved minutes. CBI should question me and not harass Karti Chidambaram," tweeted the former Union Minister.
Karti Chidambaram on Thursday refused to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)in connection with a case related to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance in 2006 in the Aircel Maxis deal when his father was the Finance Minister.
