Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday congratulated party workers and leaders on bagging three seats in assembly by-elections across eight states.

"Congratulations to all INC India workers, leaders and supporters on winning the Ater, Gundlupet and Nanjangud by-polls," Rahul tweeted.

In Madhya Pardesh's Ater assembly seat, the Congress' Hemant Katare defeated BJP's Arvind Singh Bhadoria by a little over 800 votes to retain the seat.

In Karnataka, the Congress retained Nanjangud and Gundlupet assembly constituencies defeating BJP candidates at both places.
