The rain that fell on Saturday morning on the Phillip Island Circuit hosting the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix validated the results of the first day as the Moto3 riders were first to take to the track for Free Practice 3.
Italy's Fabio di Giannantonio (Honda), who suffered a heavy fall on Friday without any serious injury, was the fastest on the wet asphalt, reports Efe news.
Di Giannantonio beat his teammate and Moto3 world leader, Spain's Jorge Martin (Honda), who beat South Africa's Darryn Binder (KTM), Italy's Tony Arbolino (Honda) and Japan's Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda).
Martin's direct rival in the fight for the title, the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (KTM), suffered a fresh fall - his third, without injury - but managed to finish sixth.
Given the conditions of the route, the best times in the category corresponded to those achieved by drivers in the second free practice session on Friday.
