Rains cool Delhi, cloudy day ahead

Spells of rain cooled the national capital Thursday morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a partly cloudy day ahead.

"The sky will remain partly cloudy. Very light rain and thunderstorm could occur some areas," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum temperature Thursday is likely to hover around 39 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 96 percent.

The minimum temperature Wednesday was recorded three notches below the the season's average at 25.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settled two notches above the average at 39 degrees Celsius.
