Prime Minister Narendra Modi's return to the national capital after his address to farmers in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur on Saturday was delayed by over 30 minutes due to heavy rains and inclement weather, an official said.
Rains started in middle of the rally and after concluding his speech, Modi, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries, took shelter at the 'safe house' at the railway ground at Roza.
Officials contemplated for taking off to Lucknow and from there to New Delhi, but as the rains stopped after 20 minutes, the fleet of IAF choppers took Modi to the Trishul air base in Bareilly from where he returned to New Delhi.
