Several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, are likely to get rains or thundershowers over the next two days, the weather bureau said Friday.
The coastal areas of north Konkan including Mumbai and eastern and western parts of Vidarbha in eastern Maharashtra may experience unseasonal downpours which will further bring down temperatures.
Large parts of Mumbai, Thane and Konkan had experienced drizzles or showers Friday morning which significantly brought the mercury down during the day.
The minimum temperatures in Mumbai city was 21.4 degrees Celsius, one degree above average and the maximum was 26.7 degrees, which was 3.1 degrees below average.
In Mumbai suburbs, the lower reading was 21.1 degrees, 3 degrees above average and the higher reading was 28 degrees, or 3.1 degrees below.
Some regions in Konkan and northern Maharashtra have been lashed by rains and showers in the past couple of days.
The met office has forecast temperatures maximum at 29 degrees Celsius and minimum at 18 degrees Celsius for Mumbai during the weekend.
Mumbai can expect light rains Saturday though by Sunday, the maximum temperatures are expected to go up to 31 degrees.
