Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday talked to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers to take stock of situation in their states as Cyclone Vardah hit land.
"Spoke to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh CMs who have apprised me of the situation prevailing in the state post the landfall of Cyclone Vardah," he said in a tweet.
Rajnath Singh further said that his ministry was closely monitoring the situation and the government was ready to provide all possible help to affected states.
A part of cyclone Vardah hit the Tamil Nadu coast and parts of south coastal Andhra with heavy rains on Monday afternoon. Two people have lost their lives in the disaster.
