A case of rash driving was registered against a diplomat of Vietnam on a complaint by a woman, police said on Tuesday.

The case was registered under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code for rash driving or riding on a public way after a car driven by the diplomat hit the car of complainant Aarti Gupta, 42, in Anand Niketan area on Sunday evening, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Nupur Bharadwaj told IANS.

"A detailed report has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs as he has diplomatic immunity in this country," the ADCP added.

A senior police official said both cars involved in the accident were damaged.
