A Russian national was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly assaulting three persons along the popular Baga-Calangute beach stretch, a police official said.
The Russian, identified as Eduardo Goryachev, 35, has been booked for assault, causing hurt with dangerous weapons, trespass and theft among other offences.
Three locals have been hospitalized for minor injuries caused during the scuffle at Baga beach village, 20 km from Panaji.
"After the altercation, the accused fled on a motorcycle and was later arrested at Calangute beach," a police official said.
