Real Betis' Dominican left back Junior Firpo has signed a contract extension until June 2023, the La Liga club announced on Sunday.
Although the club did not provide more details, sources revealed the new deal includes a 60 million euro buyout clause ($68.69 million), reports Efe.
"Real Betis and Junior Firpo have renewed the contract between them. The Dominican player will continue as a Green and White until 2023," the Spanish club announced on its website.
The 21-year-old defender joined different youth academies in Malaga, before moving to Betis in 2014, where he moved up through the youth ranks.
"His great performances in the club's second team drew the attention of (coach) Quique Setien, who took him to the first team," the club's statement added.
