It has been a good 2014 so far for Real Madrid who have not just cut the lead at the top of the BBVA Primera Liga held by FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid from five points to just one, but have also seen Barca president, Sandro Rosell forced to resign over corruption allegations, extended the contract of key midfielder Xabi Alonso watched while Cristiano Ronaldo was finally awarded the Ballon D' Or.
Ronaldo will present his much yearned prize to the fans in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium ahead of his side's home game against Granada in the BBVA Primera Liga Saturday, reports Xinhua.
Madrid go into the game knowing a win will take them to the top of the table given that Barca and Atletico Madrid don't play their respective matches until Sunday and they will go into the match confident of taking all three points against a team which is in mid-table.
Real Madrid have only lost once in front of their fans all campaign and that was against Atletico, but they should be wary of Granada, who have shown themselves to be a tough and hard-working outfit, who seem to play better away from home than in front of their own fans.
Indeed the fact Granada have won four and drawn two of their away games this season, should be a sign that Madrid may have to work harder than many think in order to take all three points, despite the visitors missing injured forwards Riki, and Odion Ighalo.
