Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has said that critical voices are "being unfair" to Colombian attacking midfielder James Rodriguez for his drop in performance and defended his commitment every time he goes onto the football pitch.

"Yes, they are being unfair, but the players know that when you play well people say nice things about you," he said at a news conference on Friday.

Zidane said he is upset because he wants things to go well for his player, adding that James "is doing well, he is committed and doing things well", reports Efe.
