Dismissing reports of any differences with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh Friday described his relationship with Modi as "harmonious".

"Our relationship was always harmonious, is harmonious at present and will remain so in the future," Singh said, responding to a question on his relationship with Modi during a briefing on the achievements of his ministry in the first 100 days of the National Democratic Alliance government.

"He is an impressive prime minister. He is the prime minister and I am a minister under him...I am the home minister," he said.

Last month, the Prime Minister's Office came out with a clarification on reports about alleged misconduct by Rajnath Singh's son Pankaj.

The PMO released a statement in which it said: "The reports are plain lies, motivated and constitute a malicious attempt at character assassination and tarnishing the government's image."

Rajnath Singh had also denied media reports about his son as "baseless" and said he would "quit politics if there is an iota of proof" against the integrity of his family members.

At the press conference Friday, Rajnath Singh also drew an analogy with cricket and quipped that his ministry was not interested in playing a T-20 or one-day cricket match.

"Instead, we will play Test matches where you have to dig in and play two innings," he added.
