Authorities on Tuesday evening imposed restrictions in old Barzulla area of Srinagar where the body of a slain militant is being taken after exhumation in Kupwara district.
Authorities sealed all entry points leading to old Barzulla where the family and relatives of Mudasir Ahmad Bhat want to receive his body for a proper burial.
Bhat was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Treh Gam area of Kupwara district on June 29. He was buried as an unidentified militant in a forested area of Kupwara.
After the DNA of the father was matched with that of the slain militant, the Kupwara district magistrate ordered the exhumation and handing over of the body to the family.
The body was handed over to the family on Tuesday and it is expected to reach old Barzulla area of Srinagar.
