Richa was perfect choice for Bholi Punjaban: Farhan Akhtar

"Fukrey" producer Farhan Akhtar says actress Richa Chadda fitted the character of Bholi Punjaban in the movie like a glove.

"(Richa is) The perfect casting for this character. She is someone with a really strong personality, tremendous amount of character and a very strong sense of self belief. She has that look, that if you mess with her, she will beat the crap out of you," Farhan said here during the making of the film.

Co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani said the movie's director, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, was very clear about the kind of girl he wanted for the role, and Richa fulfilled the criteria well.

"The character's name is Bholi Punjaban, so you need somebody who is (looks) 'bholi' (innocent) till the time she opens her mouth. That is exactly what Mrigh wanted," Ritesh said.

"Mrigh was very clear. For Bholi Punjaban, he wanted someone who was simple in her looks, but once she opens her mouth and she in in charge, she can make anybody go flat, and Richa has got it to the T," he added.

"Fukrey" also stars Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Priya Anand and Vishakha Singh. It hit theatres Friday.
