Rio Olympics: Rostami claims men's 85 weightlifting gold breaking world record

Kianoush Rostami of Iran won the gold medal in the men's 85kg weightlifting by breaking his own world record at the ongoing Rio Olympic Games here.

Rostami here on Friday evening, snatched 179kg, lifted 217kg in his last jerk, totalling at 396kg, to break the total world record of 395kg set by himself in May here on Friday evening, reports Xinhua.

Tian Tao of China won the silver at 395kg while Romanian Gabriel Sincraian took the bronze at 390kg.
