Leading US-based industrial automation solutions provider Rockwell Automation is partnering with global network equipment major Cisco Systems and Microsoft to help Indian industry boost productivity through joint solutions development and integrated solutions and services.
Increasing awareness of automation shows a lot of scope to automate manufacturing, as the industry realises its benefits, Rockwell's India subsidiary managing director Dilip Sawhney told reporters here.
With penetration of automation in domestic manufacturing being low, the industry has to adopt it to enhance productivity, improve decision-making, quality and innovating processes.
"Manufacturing will get a fillip by thriving on the government's 'Make in India' campaign, which gives scope for early adoption of automation in the industry and remain competitive," Sawhney said on the margins of a day-long event on automation here.
The three partners will enable their global clients in the manufacturing space to achieve asset optimization and broader risk management for industrial firms.
With the 'Connected Move' as the theme of its annual event - Rockwell Automation on the Move 2015 (RAOTM), the partners have assured manufacturers to gain competitive advantage to succeed and grow.
"It is important for our customers to experience what its offerings are and look at creating customer briefing centres to take its solutions to their hearts," Sawhney said.
Addressing the plenary session, Cisco India president Dinesh Malkani told about 500 delegates at the event that the partners would help manufacturers to improve business performance by bridging the technical and cultural gaps between plant floor and higher level of information systems.
"As manufacturing is linked to overall business processes for an enterprise, convergence of IT and automation technologies was key to drive real time decision-making from demand fulfillment through supply chain," he said.
