Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday directed action against top functionaries of the Rohtak Municipal Corporation for alleged irregularities in the purchase of furniture.

Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain said on Tuesday that the Chief Minister has directed the State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) to conduct investigation into the matter on the basis of a complaint.

The action has been ordered against Mayor Renu Dabla, Senior Deputy Mayor Manju, Deputy Mayor, Ashok Kumar, Municipal Engineer, Jagdish Chandra and Accounts Officer, Vikas Kumar.

During investigation, the Bureau found irregularities in the purchase of furniture.

Acting on the report, the Chief Minister ordered the Divisional Commissioner, Rohtak, to initiate action against the municipal corporation functionaries.
