Actors Rooney Mara and Martin Sheen have reportedly been signed on to work in "Trash", an adaptation of Andy Mulligan's novel published in 2010 with the same name.
Sheen will play a character named Juilliard, while Mara will portray the role of Olivia in the film, reports contactmusic.com.
The film is directed by Stephen Daldry and the story has been adapted for the screen by "Four Weddings and a Funeral" director Richard Curtis. The production is due to begin in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, next month.
The film is tentatively scheduled to release in May 2014.
