Three armed men looted Rs.1.08 crore from two employees of a construction company here on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at 1.30 p.m. near the residence of the senior superintendent of police in Raj Nagar locality.
The police said employees, Pankaj Agrawal and Mahendra Singh, withdrew the cash from the Oriental Bank of Commerce. As they stepped out, they were challenged by the robbers armed with pistols.
The bank's security guard opened fire but the criminals escaped after snatching the money and the victims' car, which was later found abandoned near Sector 12 of Raj Nagar.
"We are on the job. We will solve the case at the earliest," said Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Yadav.
