Rupee trades at new low of 64.11 against dollar

The Indian rupee hit yet another record low Tuesday falling below 64 against a dollar for the first time on continued weakness in the equities market.

The partially-convertible rupee touched a new low of 64.11 in pre-noon trade at the inter-bank currency market here, surpassing the previous record low of 63.30 Monday.

Later it recovered a bit and was trading at 63.71 against a dollar at 11.55 a.m. Indian time.
