Rupee slips below 64 against a dollar

The Indian rupee hit yet another record low Tuesday falling below 64 against a dollar for the first time on continued weakness in equities market.

The partially convertible rupee touched a low of 64.04 in early trade at the inter-bank currency market here, surpassing the previous record low of 63.30 Monday.

The rupee was trading at 63.59 against a dollar at 10.20 a.m. India time
