Sangeet Natak Akademi chief's resignation accepted

The government has accepted the resignation of Sangeet Natak Akademi chairperson Leela Samson, an official statement said Saturday.

"As per the office order, dated Oct 11, 2014, issued by the ministry of culture, the resignation of Ms. Leela Samson has been accepted by the government of India with immediate effect," said a statement from the culture ministry.

Samson had submitted her resignation from the "post vide letter dated Sep 5 addressed to the minister of culture", it added.
