Janata Dal-United president Sharad Yadav on Thursday said Mufti Muhammad Sayeed always believed in the politics of togetherness.
"He (Sayeed) always believed in the politics of togetherness and he did hate the thinking of fundamentalists," Yadav said in his condolence message on the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister's death at a Delhi hospital on Thursday.
"His contribution as a union minister and especially as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir will never be forgotten," he added.
Remembering his close association with Sayeed, Yadav said: "He was a very straightforward person and a good human being. He was very down to earth. He was a seasoned politician and was an able administrator as well."
With Sayeed's death, Yadav said he has lost his great associate, guide and elder brother, and the country lost a patriot and an able administrator.
