The Supreme Court Monday said that it would hear on Feb 10 the central government's plea seeking the modification of its Jan 13 order asking it to place before it the Justice Shah Commission's report on illegal mining in Odisha and Jharkhand.
The government had Friday moved the apex court urging it to modify the Jan 13 order of the green bench of Justice A.K.Patnaik, Justice Surinder Singh Nijjar and Justice Fakkir Mohamed Ibrahim Kalifulla seeking the report by Jan 27, so that the report on illegal mining could be placed first before parliament.
Directing the listing of the government's application on Feb 10, the green bench said that it would examine whether placing of the Shah Commission report before it first would amount to breach of privilege of parliament.
