Four sacks filled with pieces of scrapped currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 were found in a garbage dump in this Madhya Pradesh district, police said on Monday.
Informed of the bundles of notes lying in the dump near National Highway-75, police reached the spot and seized the sacks, Inspector K.K. Khanuja told reporters. Investigations have been launched, he addded.
After the Central government demonestised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on November 8, several bundles of scrapped notes were found at various places in the state.
